How to start a word of mouth epidemic. The N.U.D.E. Model.

Posted in Entreprenerial stuff, Online Marketing

Have you ever wondered how to take your business viral?   How to get a word of mouth epidemic started?

Scott Degraffenried, a mathematician and social network analyst, has put together a mathematical formula on how you can achieve this.

Here is a transcript of a telephone interview I did with him.   You can see the transcript at the Green Business Resource Center.      See the transcript with Scott on Using the NUDE Model to start a word of mouth epidemic.

Whenever I look at someone, they look at me!

Posted in Entreprenerial stuff, Life

I was just looking through some of my old blog entries from 2005, and read something that I think is worth writing about again.

My son was 5 at the time, when he had one of those ‘ah-ha’ discoveries:

He said “Mom… you want to see something cool?  Whenever I look at someone, they look at me.”

He then proceeded to do an experiment.   He chose a lady, and looked rightat her.  She of course looked at him.   “See Mom!  She looked at me!”

I couldn’t help but relate that to business.  When you go out of your way to help a client, prospect or referral source, they will notice you.  If you go out of your way and comment on other blogs, the writer and readers will notice you.  If you go out of your way to send a thank you or thinking of you note to a client, they will notice you.

Which reminds me…. I’ve got a thank you note to write!  :-)
